main thak gaya hon…

April 27, 2009 at 9:01 pm (Myself & I, poetry)

bahut raat huee
thak gaya hoon, mujhe sone do
bahut raat huee

chaand se keh do utar jaaye
bahut baat huee

aashiyaan ke liye chaar tinake bhi the
aasare raat ke aur din ke bhi the
dhoodhate the jise, wo zara si zameen
aasamaan ke tale kho gayee hai kahin
dhoop se keh do utar jaaye, bahut baat huee

zindagi ke sabhi raaste sard hain
ajnabi raat ke ajnabi dard hain
yaad se keh do guzar jaaye, bahut baat huee

yaad aata nahin, ab koi naam se
sab gharo.n ke diye bujh gaye shaam se
waqt se keh do guzar jaaye, bahut baat huee

main thak gaya hoon, mujhe sone do, bahut raat huee

ulti ho gain sab tadabiren

April 25, 2009 at 7:14 pm (Myself & I, poetry)

ulti ho gain sab tadabiren, kuch na dawa ne kam kiya
dekha is bimari-e-dil ne akhir kam tamam kiya

ahd-e-jawani ro-ro kata, piri main lin ankhen mund
yani rat bahot the jage subah hui aram kiya

nahaq ham majburon par tohmat hai mukhtari ki
chahte hain so ap kare hain, hamko abas badnam kiya

sarzad ham se be-adabi to wahshat main bhi kam hi hui
koson us ki or gae par sajda har har gam kiya

aise aho-eharam-khurda ki wahshat khoni mushkil thi
sihar kiya, ijaz kiya, jin logon ne tujh ko ram kiya

yan k safed-o-syah main hamko dakhal jo hai so itana hai
rat ko ro-ro subah kiya, din ko jyon-tyon sham kiya

‘Mir’ k din-o-mazhab ko ab puchte kya ho un ne to
qashqa khincha, dair main baitha, kab ka tark islam kiya

hastee apnee Hubaab kee see hai

April 24, 2009 at 4:32 pm (Myself & I, poetry)

hastee apnee Hubaab kee see hai
ye numa’ish suraab kee see hai

naazukee uss ke lab kee kya kahiye
paNkhaRee ik gulaab kee see hai

baar-baar us ke dar pe jaata hooN
Haalat ab iztiraab kee see hai

maiN jo bola kaha ke ye aawaaz
usee KHaanah-KHaraab kee see hai

Meer” un neem-baaz aaNkhoN meN
saaree mastee sharaab kee see hai

English Translation.

Our life (existence) is temporary (fragile) just like a bubble,
This exhibition (of the colorful world) is an illusion like mirage.

How can I express the softness of her lips,
They are just like rose petals.

I rush to her door again and again (in hope of having a glimpse of her),
My anxiety has reached its peak.

When she heard my voice, she said,
“This voice is just like the voice of that wretched man (the poet)”.

O Meer! The drowsiness in those dreamy eyes,
Is just like that of wine

Kabhi hum khubsurat thy

April 24, 2009 at 4:26 pm (Myself & I, poetry, present)

kabhi hum khubsurat thay
kitaboan man base khushbu ki manind
sans sakin the
buhat say unkahay lafzoan say taswerain banatay thay
parindoan kay paroan per nazm likh ker
dur ki jheeloan main basnay walay
logon ko sunatay thay
jo hum say dur thay laikin
humaray pass rehtay thay

nayey din ki musafat jub kiran kay saath
angan main uterte the
to hum kehtay thay
humain mathay pay bosa do
keh hum ko
jugnuoan kay, titliyoan kay dais jana hay
hamain rangoan kay jugnoon
roshni ki titliyaan awaz daite hain
nayae din ki musafat rung main doobe hawa kay saath
khirkee say bulate hay
hamain mathay pay bosa do
hamain mathay pay bosa do………….

forgiving and forgetting.

April 17, 2009 at 5:14 pm (Habit, Myself & I, Private, Public, family, friendship, hate, history, love, past, present, relatioship, silence, tips and tricks)

I would like to hear your opinion on forgiving and forgetting. When people hurt you: do you forgive and forget? Or do you just forgive but don’t forget?

People who tend to be seen as good – usually forgive and forget. But I don’t think that this is a question of being good or evil – I think the point is about being just. So maybe the tendency to forgive and forget those that have hurt us is not necessarily a good thing. Because if we don’t do anything to people that hurt us – they will probably continue on hurting others.

This is the way I see it and I would like to hear you about this subject and also your own experiences.

Its us, not anyone else

April 16, 2009 at 5:45 pm (Myself & I, Private, present)

We wait all these years to find someone who understands us, I thought, someone who accepts us as we are, someone with a wizard’s power to melt stone to sunlight, who can bring us happiness in spite of trials, who can face our dragons in the night, who can transform us into the soul we choose to be. Just yesterday I found that magical Someone is the face we see in the mirror: It’s us and our homemade masks.

Grief

April 14, 2009 at 5:32 pm (Myself & I, present)

Some are able to release grief far more quickly than others. However long it takes, it is always the re-connection with the power of the heart that moves you past grief. When the heart is enlivened again, it feels like the sun coming out after a week of rainy days. There is hope in the heart that chases the clouds away. Hope is a higher heart frequency and as you begin to reconnect with your heart, hope is waiting to show you new possibilities and arrest the downward spiral of grief and loneliness. It becomes a matter of how soon you want the sun to shine. Listening to the still, small voice in your heart will make hope into a reality.
